Why I want to become a Mentor?
It is a passion of mine to help other women be successful in their careers and professional aspirations. This is an opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge to guide and help individuals who want to overcome business challenges, help with career development or career transitions. I have coached and mentored women on career transition, leadership and management development. I have worked with women entrepreneurs and women business owners to help them overcome business development challenges and develop better business management skills. Mentoring for me creates a wonderful opportunity to collaborate and learn and there is no greater satisfaction than seeing someone achieve what they want, or overcome a particular challenge as a result of a mentoring relationship.

Why I want to become a Mentor?
As a woman who has learned to have a successful career while raising a family, and benefited greatly from the experience of others, I feel it is my obligation to give back in this way. I have mentored many employees over the years and always learn as much, if not more, from my students than I teach. I may be busy at work and at home, but never too busy to help teach others how to become successful professionals. It's a tough world out there - we have to offer a hand whenever possible!

Why I want to become a Mentor?
Of everything I have accomplished in my life, I am most proud and have been most affected by those instances where I have been able to share my knowledge, inspire a co-worker or help someone else reach his or her full potential. These mentoring opportunities are rejuvenating and help keep the subject matter exciting. I have also found that these are, often, symbiotic relationships where I as mentor have learned just as much--if not more--than the mentee. Every businessman or woman can use help with marketing. It is my experience as a marketing consultant, that it is often the key to a successful business and, yet, is often overlooked.

Why I want to become a Mentor?
To me, mentoring is the most rewarding part of my professional experience. I have had the opportunity over the years to help individuals learn and grow to become excellent leaders both in the workplace and community. One of the reasons I began teaching at Marist was to offer my knowledge and experiences to students within the Accounting field in the hopes that someday they too would become great financial leaders. To this day, I still have past students keep in contact with me to ask for advice and share experiences. In every position I have held, regardless of the company, I have walked away with formed relationships and friendships that started out as informal mentoring. I know that I could be an asset to women in the community to help offer assistance in both personal and professional growth.

Why I want to become a Mentor?
I feel it's extremely important that any individual, whether they are new into the the work-force or have been for many years, to be able to have a relationship with one who can provide their insite and experiences. Not only in a particular field, but in general, when it comes to day to day or planning ahead. I have 18+ years in Broadcast Communication with strong personal and professional communication skills and am willing to share with those who need my time and experience as a worker, to share my community involvement, to share my success and struggles to get to where I am now. I'm hoping that I will be considered a Mentor. Thank you in advance. Michelle

Why I want to become a Mentor?
I hold leadership roles in all organizations that I participate in and in my professional life; I have mentored several younger women in career paths, in good and bad times. As an attorney and 'counsellor at law' performing corporate work with an emphasis on not-for-profits, I frequently consult with and provide guidance to key executives and board members.
